Beauty around the underground.

Trying to open my eyes a little wider than usual while walking about London Town. Well, the underground really. As we spend so much of our time under the city I thought I would try and find the beauty in the frustrating, hot and some times claustrophobic and most certainly smelly London underground.

To start with I've been really interested in the tiles that line most of the walls that interconnect the lines. For instance walk from the Jubilee line to the Piccadilly line at Green Park station and you will see.....go on.. try and keep our head up and look for the pretty around you.

Here are some of my findings...

The one below isn't a tile but I loved the image - beauty around the underground.

If you have any images you love and find interesting around the underground I would love to see them. Email them to me at ablondebroadabroad@hotmail.co.uk and I'll share them on my next blog post.

Pink Jack's fundraiser for the Peter Tatchell foundation

David Gwinnutt of Pink Jack fame kindly let me loose behind the scenes of the event. Madness and mayhem in the dressing rooms. Jonny Woo, David Hoyle, Timberlina, the cast of Stark Dallas Naked, Tom Allen and the beautiful voiced David McAlmont and Fingersnap.
With wigs galore, hooker heals, bags of make-up and bubbly there was barely room to swing a cat, but swung a cat we did.

Beirut - The 2 F's, Faces and Food.

Wondering around the city you see so many interesting faces, young and old. The women sure do know how to dress up. They are all a good size 12 and up, they own their shape and seem really confident, which is just amazing. I was the weird skinny blonde bird wondering about, Totally out of place. Its a shame the British girls don't feel the same about themselves. I guess when you have been brought up on a war zone you don't give a F about those kind of things.

Awww: my boy :)

These lovely people looked after the food at this amazing restaurant called 'Tawlett'. Beyond the best village food, that's right, village food! not street food. Every day they have a different cook from a local village make the food for the local Beirut people. SO DAM GOOD!

Couldn't NOT put a pix up of hummous not could I!

hahaha: and baklava!Yummy yum yum

Ok: back to the faces. This old guy was so smiley and happy. Kept telling us how old he is - 86! awwww. He worked in some kind of mechanic shop, as u can just about see in the background.

This sweet kid was from Syria. Spent his day shinning shoes.

This man owned a furniture shop, full of odds and sods. Very proud man. He was sat in this beautiful chair carving a piece of wood. He wanted to marry me off - fool! lol

Funny how all these face pictures are men: ahem.
The lovely bread maker. Makes it in that cart thing in the middle of the street. I wonder how he would do with a Panasonic bread maker?! ummmm

The Barbour: The most fantastic barbours shop ever! old and knackered. Love the old style seats. He fiddled about, went up some ladder type thing, thought he had disappeared forever, then came back down with the biggest cigar you've ever seen in your live. Thought it was for the boy, oh no...for moi! Needless to say, it's still waiting to be smoked.

The blonde broad: tipsy at this point...I think I was offering the boy to everyone at this point...oh dear.

I realise there is a lack of females....don't ask me why??!!

That concludes my trip to Beirut. Go Go Go that's all I will say. You wont regret a thing. Bliss.
