Landscapes and buildings - Beirut continued
Good Morning Beirut :) 26 degrees, a tough day ahead. hahaha. Breakfast time..yum.
View over the roof tops.
The very famous bronze Martyr's statue, which is riddled with bullet holes. It has become the symbol for all that was destroyed in the civil war.
So pretty. Would you ever believe there was a war here?!
I love the uniformity of some of the buildings. Totally the opposite to the new buildings, that are built in the old Venesion style.
Below is a close up of the building above: not that you're not clever enough to have realised that eh!
Another roof top view from Le Gray. mwah.
Holiday Inn anyone?! err...can I have an upgrade?!
Walking about by the marina. weird but fascinating mix of old and brand spanking new.
One of the new build buildings, down-town Beirut. I know, looks spooky doesn't it.
The end of another gorgeous sun filled day. Cocktails anyone?

Design: Beautiful images that caught my eye.
The atrium of Le Gray
A cafe in Gemayzeh
Boy do they like to smoke!
A fab sushi restaurant we went to, oops forget the name, sorry :(
A wall: I know! but couldn't help myself, lol.
Another wall!: I need to get out more!! But what a lovely wall it is ;)
Dear oh dear :)
Towlet: Beirut village food restaurant. The best meal we had!More about that in the food and drink section.
Beirut - wowwee
Saying to people you're off to Beirut has had many a frowned brow and quizzical look, but for you open minded souls out there, usually a big smile full of wonderment.
WOWWEE is the word that cames to mind after a trip there last week. The city is full of warmth, vibrancy and a very full and expanding waistline (mine that is), and boy do they like to party!
The mix of old blown out buildings and new ones rising left right and centre add to its hip and cool vibe throughout the city.
Beirut is a wonderful buzzy city with so much to offer so if you have any doubts in going - don't! GO, you'll regret it if you don't.
Morning: The view taken from the rooftop of our hotel, the beautiful Le Gray Hotel.
Hustle and bustle of city traffic: I love this photo, says it all. Beirut :)
